At McNally Joinery, we don’t shy away from a challenge or from unique customer ideas. Our craftsmen love being part of a creative solution and thrive on new, innovative concepts. When this staircase project came along, we were delighted to be part of the team bringing our customer’s vision to life.
The client wanted a feature staircase which was dual colour, had a mitred nosing running down the side of the strings and tiles inset into the timber risers to give a really unique look to the staircase. A 70mm x 70mm handrail was mitred to become a newel at the bottom of the staircase and fitted perfectly to double as the final piece of nosing before an oversized first step. The treads were solid oak with square spindles sitting on the nosing instead of the treads.
One of our craftsmen Jim, spent time carefully planning the riser detail to the builder’s specification. This ensured the tiles could be precision fitted after staircase installation. With great attention to detail, the client’s staircase became a reality.
