As we’re progressing through another lockdown and closure of McNally Joinery, it has to be said, in some ways it is more difficult this time around. Although, we had a few days notice to plan a little better and there is some light at the end of the tunnel, the weather is not playing ball, there seems to be less things to occupy us and we’re just colder doing them! Personally, I am more anxious this time around and the January blues don’t help the situation with its grey days and cold snaps. I have to keep reminding myself to be present, take it day by day and stay upbeat whatever may come.

With our home and nature our only refuge to calm the mind, our self care has to take place within the 5k of our homes. So how can we stay upbeat and keep our minds hopeful in the present moment…
Here’s are some of our ideas:

We love lighting a fire on a cold night and curling up to watch a good movie…

A nice big slice of chocolate cake…

Day dreaming of flicking through the clothes rails and touching the actual fabrics in a brick and mortar shop…

Browsing home décor mags with a nice cuppa…

We love a walk on the beach, or better still, a quick dip. You’ll feel the better for it!

We might even slide over the door to let the TV home school the kids…just for a little while.

Putting a fresh coat of paint onto your front door to uplift your mood…

Planning your next adventure away from this wee Isle.

Making time for your creativity … and then some more for decorating your home with it.
We can only go one day at a time, enjoy the simple moments and roll with whatever comes our way. Mind yourselves and hope to see you soon…
